Ry Faraola
Ry Faraola is a graphic designer, typographer and artist based in London whose practice interrogates the relationship between design, power, and class consciousness. Working across typography, graphic design, publishing, and participatory objects, Faraola uses humor and irony as critical tools to expose the contradictions embedded in contemporary design culture.
With an MA in Visual Communication from the Royal College of Art, a certificate in type design from Letterform Archive's Type West program, and dual bachelors degrees in Studio Art and Visual Cultures from University of California Santa Cruz, Faraola brings both theoretical depth and practical experience to projects that span commercial design, community organizing, museum commissions, and independent publishing.

Screenprinting
OrganizingBrand identity, screen-printed posters, and campaign materials for a citywide ballot initiative implementing rent control and just-cause eviction protections. Commissioned by Movement for Housing Justice, this grassroots campaign required visual communications that made housing policy accessible to diverse community members.
The design strategy emphasized approachability over confrontation, using calming color palettes and clear directional design elements to guide voter understanding of complex housing legislation. Campaign materials included yard signage, direct mail pieces, and screen-printed posters distributed throughout the community. The visual approach balanced policy advocacy with neighborhood-scale accessibility, creating materials that communicated both urgency and stability around housing security issues
